Glendale Community College provides resources for students provide for their basic needs and conveniences, one of these resources is the Food Pantry. The Food Pantry, located at the Student Leadership Building, is there for the students to have access to food and other basic necessities. The food pantry is provided with help from St. Mary’s Food Bank and donations from other students. The Food Pantry allows students to come by once a day and take up to three food items and toiletry products when the pantry has them available. During the fall and spring semesters, the pantry is open for student access Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. During the summer the pantry has slightly different hours and is open Monday and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Students may access the Food pantry from the GCC website at https://www.gccaz.edu/community/food-pantry.  The Food Pantry web page includes links to additional resources for students such as a food resource list that provides other providers of food donations along with their contact information. In addition, there are links to informational resources such as websites for benefits.gov and other assistance programs that can be helpful to students in crisis including phone numbers to call if students need to talk with people about what kinds of benefits they need other than food needs.

Students in need of housing information will find a guide on locating apartments, roommates, and setting up utilities at affordable costs. The guide provides for students a sample roommate agreement, that can set expectations and how to avoid roommate conflicts. These services and programs promote a student’s ability to be in a suitable environment where they can flourish in their academic studies and programs without the worry of where they can get a meal or have suitable shelter.
