I love this ad! You use photos very wisely as there is a nice row in the middle to quickly look at and then the background itself is also a picture. It would be very easy to lose your photos in photos, but your format works perfect in a way that is easy to read. You also do a great job checking for readability within your ad. Many bad advertisements lose their type in an extravagant background, but you make sure that there is enough contrast between the letters and your cool background. I am also a big fan of how straight forward your ad is. You just say big selection and that’s enough, I am already intrigued. Then immediately after you state that the books are only one or two dollars which seals the deal. I also like how you underlined half price Sunday’s and free attendance. The half price one got me interested specifically for Sunday. The free attendance one at the bottom got me to keep reading all the way down and now I know where and when this is going down. You make a great use of the space overall and am impressed that you could use a background like that and still have clear readability. Great job!
Hi Reynaldo! This graphic ad looks very interesting with your chosen colors and it makes me think of a retro graphic ad. It looks pretty basic and simple, but it has all the information needed for those who don’t have much time to stop for an ad. The colors of the faded background and typography make the content stand out a lot; they’re symmetrically balanced as well. I recommend having words capitalized differently like all-caps for the most important information (TWO DAYS for example) or try highlighting that information. Other than that, I love that your ad is informative and straightforward with nice color choices and fading.
I have never heard about this type of event before. It’s great to know that books can be sold for cheap prices to help more people access them, especially in our current digital world where everyone just wants to focus on their electronic devices. I like reading books a lot and I only prefer reading in my language to fully understand the content. Yet, I also just love spending time at a bookstore since it’s my favorite safe place, regardless of which language the books in the store are in. Although I missed this great free-attendance event, I’m glad that I know about it and would love to see it take place again soon.
