With the new school year rolling by fast, it is important for students to renew their FAFSA application. Whether you are a returning student to Glendale Community College or a brand new one to the campus, it’s important to apply. FAFSA, or Free Application for Federal Student Aid, opened up for renewal of the 2021-2022 school year on October 1, 2020. FAFSA is a free form for students of all backgrounds to check their eligibility for financial aid. Fill out those FAFSA forms before June 30th, 2021, or else your application cannot be reviewed. However, the earlier the forms are submitted, the more likely a student is to receive aid. The school only receives so much financial aid so always apply as soon as possible.
Students can fill out the form anywhere as long as there is WIFI available. Fill the form out at home or even in a library, it’s as convenient as that. Keep in mind that it asks students for sensitive information, such as Social Security, so be mindful of where the information is filled out. It’s important for students to fill out their FAFSA forms so they can get the appropriate funds in order to pay for their next year at Glendale Community College.

The Financial Aid Counseling has various online meetups. Request a virtual meeting with one of the counselors for assistance in filling out your form. There is also an option to meet remotely to get assistance.
If students don’t meet the requirements for financial aid, they are encouraged to apply for scholarships. Scholarships will always help students with aids for the next school year. There’s a multitude of different scholarships for students to apply for, such as the honors scholarship or even scholarships for specific majors.
