Glendale Community College offers Counseling services, from Monday to Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. through phone or video call conversations for students dealing with anxiety, career development, and Personal or Academic Concerns. The school has offered the services since before the pandemic. Since students’ stress levels have risen considerably, the Maricopa District encourages students to use these resources to improve their learning experience in online classes. If you detect that it takes you more work than usual to concentrate, if you develop bizarre thoughts of you or your perception, if you feel concerned about your career and future, please get in contact with the faculty to schedule an appointment. Counseling faculty are not considered a medical therapist organization, but it can identify if students need psychological medical help and can guide them through to process of linking students to the right people. Some additional resources they offer you are a 24-hour crisis hotline for suicide crisis (Maricopa County), Substance Use and Disorder, and Veterans.

One of the things counselors help you with is advisement on career pathways. based on what would be best for them, their strengths, and their goals. They will develop a studies plan so each student can graduate on time. If you are concerned about your classes, they will look at credits and answer any questions you may have.

This semester workshops will be presented through Zoom conferences, some of the topics will be “Dealing with the Continued Disruption of COVID” on Wednesday, February 17th from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. “What’s your purpose? Start by answering these 10 beautiful questions” on Monday, February 22nd from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. “The Need for Connection” on Tuesday, March 2nd from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. These are free and open to anyone who would like to join.
